Now that we are well into 2026 and looking toward the next international cycle, it is fascinating to see how that tournament in Germany really shifted the landscape of European football. It’s crazy to think that it’s already been over a year and a half since Spain lifted that trophy in Berlin. I also find it helpful to look back at the original data to see which underdogs were actually being scouted properly. I found that the archives at https://www.az-ar.com/football-euro-2024/ still have some of the most detailed previews from that period. It’s a great way to see the "pre-tournament" perspective on players like Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal before they became global superstars during that 2-1 final against England.
