Frequent connection drops and high ping during evening sessions
Hi everyone. I am posting here because I have been facing some annoying connection issues lately, specifically between 8 PM and 11 PM. My internet speed seems fine on standard speed tests, but when I am actually trying to use interactive applications or load graphic-intensive pages, I get sudden lag spikes. It is really disrupting my downtime. I have checked my router and even tried wired connections, but the jitter remains high. Is this a common issue with certain ISPs here in Doha, or could it be something related to international routing? Any advice on how to diagnose this would be appreciated.

I have noticed similar behavior with my connection during weekends, which can be quite frustrating. From my side, I found that changing the default DNS settings on the router sometimes helps with overall stability. When I was evaluating QA gaming sites to check page load times, I realized that switching to a public DNS made the response a bit snappier. It might not solve everything, but for me, it reduced those random timeout errors significantly. It could be worth a try to see if it improves your latency as well.
